Tim Harmon Western Bronze

Tim Harmon, Sculptor

I was born June 24, 1946, and raised in Globe/Miami, AZ.  From a very young age, I was influenced by the western life.  I grew up riding and working cattle in the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico.  Since cowboying doesn’t pay much, I would at times have to fill-in with spur making and carpentering – more carpentering than spur making.

I have always loved horses and drew them every chance I got.  It wasn’t until the last ten years I found working in clay to be my choice of media.  I was privileged to be able to take sculpting classes from two CA artists, Mehl Lawson and John Coleman.  Through their influence and urging, I have begun to show my works publicly.  I find it rewarding to listen to people as they discuss my work and hear the stories behind each piece.

After retirement, my wife and I plan to focus on showing my work around the country in as many shows as we can.  Meeting artists and people involved in fine art has opened a new exciting world for us.

We hope to be able to meet you along the trail.
